A novembre 2021 mi è venuta l’idea di realizzare il mio primo disco. L’input decisivo è arrivato da Roberto Manzotti, fotografo e artista che stimo molto, autore della copertina e della scultura in cartone: mi ha incoraggiato a concretizzare quello che facevo, a far ascoltare la mia musica anche ad altri. All’inizio ero un po’ perplesso, ma la passione immensa che ho per la musica mi ha spinto ad andare avanti.
Nei mesi successivi ho coinvolto artisti che stimo e con cui condivido amicizia e fiducia. La partecipazione di Julia Kent, violoncellista canadese di fama internazionale (ha collaborato con Anthony and the Johnsons e numerosi altri progetti, le sue musiche sono anche nelle colonne sonore di Sorrentino), è stata un regalo incredibile. Inviandole qualche brano, lei ha apprezzato subito, e da lì è nata una collaborazione straordinaria.
Anche Sara Ardizzoni, chitarrista ferrarese con collaborazioni importanti (Cesare Basile, Massimo Volume, Marc Ribot, Fennesz, Mike Watt, Peter Hook, East Rodeo…) ha contribuito con la sua chitarra al brano Monte Clérigo. Massimo Fantoni, Elena Strada, Alessandra Aricò, Germana Giannini e Antonella Talamonti hanno apportato le loro voci e strumenti, creando un’alchimia unica.
Il disco è incentrato sulla voce femminile: dieci cantanti e attrici che cantano in lingue diverse – dal latino al magrebino, dal siciliano al greco e al giapponese – dando vita a un progetto multilingue e multiculturale.
Ora manca davvero poco: il disco entrerà in stampa entro il mese prossimo e sarà disponibile a settembre 2023 su Bandcamp e altre piattaforme di streaming. Non vedo l’ora di condividerlo con voi e di ricevere le vostre impressioni.

In November 2021, the idea of creating my first album came to me. The decisive push came from Roberto Manzotti, a photographer and artist I deeply admire, who created the album cover and the cardboard sculpture: he encouraged me to turn my ideas into reality and share my music with others. At first, I was a little hesitant, but my immense passion for music drove me forward.
In the following months, I invited artists I respect and with whom I share friendship and trust. Julia Kent, a Canadian cellist of international fame (she has collaborated with Antony and the Johnsons among many others, and her music has been featured in Sorrentino’s film soundtracks), joined the project, and her involvement was an incredible gift. After sending her a few tracks, she was immediately impressed, sparking an extraordinary collaboration.
Sara Ardizzoni, a talented guitarist from Ferrara with notable collaborations (Cesare Basile, Massimo Volume, Marc Ribot, Fennesz, Mike Watt, Peter Hook, East Rodeo…), contributed her guitar to the track Monte Clérigo. Massimo Fantoni, Elena Strada, Alessandra Aricò, Germana Giannini, and Antonella Talamonti also contributed their voices and instruments, creating a unique synergy.
The album focuses on the female voice: ten singers and actresses performing in different languages – from Latin to Maghreb, Sicilian to Greek and Japanese – resulting in a multicultural and multilingual project.
Now we are almost there: the album will go to print next month and is expected to be released in September 2023 on Bandcamp and other streaming platforms. I can’t wait to share it with you and hear your thoughts.
